Carters Shocksafe Insulated Clay Grafter Treaded Spade BS8020

This insulated clay grafter spade features a slightly dished blade designed to cut through heavy soil such as clay. The leading edge is slightly rounded, allowing you to easily break ground, making it suitable for heavy groundbreaking.

The handle of the Shocksafe clay grafter is insulated up to 10,000V, offering significant protection against electric shocks for workers operating in areas with live conductors or with risks of buried live cables. The handle features an extra wide grip suitable for use with gloves, and the shaft features a solid fiberglass core with a durable polypropylene shell, making it lightweight and exceptionally durable.

The blade of this insulated clay grafter spade is made from a single piece of forged steel with welded forward facing treads. This method of manufacturing not only makes the blade exceptionally strong but also allows it to be made lighter weight as the treads increase the strength of the blade, allowing thinner material to be used. The forward-facing treads also make the shovel more ergonomic by increasing the space for feet to engage with the shovel, spreading the load and giving greater precision whilst working.

A solid fibreglass core encapsulated in a blended polypropylene outer shell make this handle able to withstand 750n in a bend test whilst also having great insulative properties.
