Carters Shocksafe Insulated General Service Treaded Shovel BS8020
This General service treaded shovel from the shocksafe range of shovels is perfect for penetrating tougher soils and surfaces. Its pointed leading edge allows the blade to cut through the soil with greater ease than flat-fronted alternatives. Especially popular in Scotland, this shovel is ideal for digging relatively small trenches and still offers good “shovelling” capacity as the blade is a decent size.
The handle on this Shocksafe shovel features a Carters 10,000V insulated shaft with a solid fibreglass core and hard-wearing, ergonomic polypropylene shell. At the top of this is an extra wide hand grip suitable for use with gloves. All of this is fully insulated, allowing the spade to be used around live wires with improved safety.
The Shocksafe General Service Shovel blade features forward-facing treads and is forged from a single price of steel. This makes it exceptionally strong and allows it to be lighter than competing shovels while still being durable. The treads make the shovel more comfortable to use, reducing the point load on the sole of your boot whilst digging harder substrates.
