The walking man marking when used in a carpark is often there to indicate to motorists that pedestrians may be walking in this area. It is also frequently seen in distribution hubs to indicate areas where pedestrians have priority over vehicles.
Our thermoplastic walking man symbol is fast and easy to apply, allowing you to create quick and easy pedestrian safety areas. If purchased alongside our thermoplastic rolls a complete path marking system can easily be created. The rolls allow you to create clean outlines that pedestrians know to stay within.
We have these markings available in various sizes and colours, these can be used alongside arrows or exit signage to indicate proper evacuation routes in large complexes.
We have white and yellow markings ready to order online if you need other colours we are here to help. You may want to use these additional colours to mark our separate walkways to different areas of your operation or to dictate different levels of safety equipment requirements.
Applying our walking man / pedestrian symbol markings is very easy. Firstly the area must be cleaned of all loose debris, oil, grease and salts. Once this is done you are ready to get going. If your road surface is old tarmac, concrete or block paving then you will need to use our fast-drying primer.
Once you have fully prepped the surface the marking can be set out. Once you are happy with the marking positioning a heat gun can be used to melt the marking to the road surface. For additional traction glass bead can be sprinkled over the surface, this is fused into the marking with the further application of heat.
Thermoplastic on block paving is known to be more difficult to apply and has a substantially shorter lifetime than on bituminous surfaces, such as tarmac.
Block paving is not a solid structure. Most of the time, they are put down and sand is added into the grooves, so over time when moisture creeps in as well as moss, movement can be made within 2 blocks, making the material crack and fail.
