Pallet Racking Protectors

Pallet Racking Protectors

Damaged pallet racking can be a nightmare to repair, especially in high bay installations where a dented or damaged leg could require a whole bay to collapse. Our pallet racking protectors are easy to install and prevent accidental damage to vulnerable areas of pallet racking including the ends of bays or the feet where most of the traffic interaction occurs. Simple bolt down installation means installing these items is quick and easy with minimal disruption.

  • About Pallet Racking Protectors

For many businesses, pallet racking is a significant investment and holds much of the business's physical assets, such as stock, components and customers' products in transit. For this reason, it is imperative that the racking is protected from the heavy machinery that loads and unloads it, ensuring it does not get dented, weakening the structure, or worse still, collapsing the racking entirely, writing off £1000’s in racking and stock in the process.

We stock many types of pallet rack protectors, including corner protectors that protect the ends of pallet racking from impacts and leg guards that sit at the shin of each post, guaranteeing against forklift impacts as pallets are loaded in and out. All of this increases the lifespan of your racking and protects your investment.

For high-traffic and high-risk areas, we have substantial protectors that include rollers, allowing them to deflect impacts and help guide pallets into a bay. All our pallet rack leg protectors and column protectors are easy to install as they can be bolted to the floor using commonly available fixings (which we also stock).

    Pallet Racking Corner Protectors

These sit on the corner of pallet racking at the end of a run, offering protection from forklifts and other materials handling equipment as they operate throughout the warehouse. These corner positions are often some of the most vulnerable and high traffic areas in a warehouse so it is important they have adequate protection.

    Pallet Racking Leg Protectors

These sit at the base of each upright pallet rack and offer protection from forks and pallets as the rack is loaded and unloaded. They can be purchased in different heights and are a necessity wherever forklifts are used.

    Pallet Racking Column Protectors

Normally made from plastic, these racking column guards clamp around racking, ensuring it is protected from impacts. They are often installed in areas where the rear of a forklift is likely to brush the leg of pallet racking as it manoeuvres.

Key Considerations When Purchasing Pallet Racking Protection Systems

Here are some of the key factors to take into account when making your purchase of pallet racking, ensuring you get the most cost effective solution that also meets your requirements and delivers the performance you need.

    Type

Consider the position of the racking and the direction of traffic passing through around the racking. Choose the most appropriate system that covers the pallet racking without obstructing access when required.

    Foundation

Take into account how you will mount the racking protectors, most bolt down so you will need a good foundation around the racking upright. For example if you bolt the protector down into soft tarmac, the fixings may pull out in the event of a collision.

    Colour

Choose a high visibility vibrant colour of protection system that will stand out and contrast with its surroundings. You want to give workers in the area a visual warning that the protection is there to enable them to avoid contact wherever possible.

    Strength

Choose a system that is suitable for the job in terms of strength. If you are only ever going to have pump trucks operating in your warehouse with lightweight pallets of goods you wont need a system that is as heavy duty as something designed to protect the racking from the heaviest forklifts.
