  • About Cone Lamps

When performing works in public spaces, making passing cars aware of the site is critical to site safety, especially along main roads and motorways. Accidents can be avoided easily with the proper kind of lighting systems, coupled with the correct barriers and markers, increasing safety with little inconvenience.

Cone lamps are designed to be mounted on top of traffic cones and function as warning lights to improve the visibility and safety on roads and construction sites. With proper placement, cone lights alert motorists and pedestrians alike to potential hazards, temporary road diversions, and construction zones ahead. They are also almost always used as an early warning system for motorists of a closed-off lane on multilane roads.

These lamps for cones come in many different styles, colours, and fixing methods that can respond to diverse needs and use cases. This allows traffic cone lights to provide far-reaching visibility of delineated borders to workers and road users alike.

    Cone Lamps

    Sequential Cone Lamps

These lamps “talk” to each other to produce a chain of flashes that flow away from approaching traffic. Perfect for use in high-speed, high-traffic areas such as along highways, A roads, or even motorways, these lamps for traffic cones provide an early warning to motorists, as well as more context as to the nature of the danger, and the cones’ locations. You will have seen these installed along exit ramps to direct people off the motorway.

    Coloured Traffic Cone Lamps

Amber/orange being the most popular, cone lamps with different colours indicate different meanings to pedestrians and motorists (depending on the installation location).
Magenta or red are compliant with rail standards and are used near rail sites, and blue are often used where there is a police presence.

Getting The Right Cone Lamp For Your Needs

Consider the following factors when deciding on the best cone tape for your needs

    Lighting Intensity

How far away does the lamp need to be seen from, and what is its use case? Some cone lamp solutions can have their lighting intensity adjusted.

    Continuous or Flashing

Do you need a light that is continuously on or one that is flashing? Consider the message the light is being used to convey, and its installation location. Many of our ranges offer the option to switch between flashing and continuous.

    Traffic Type

What kind of traffic is the lamp designed to illuminate or warn? Determine if you need lamps for pedestrian areas, vehicle routes, or both. This consideration will influence your choice of colours, fixing method and lighting intensity.

    Power Source & Battery Life

Based on site requirements, choose between battery-operated, solar-powered, or mains-powered options. Depending on the power source and your use case, consider the required battery life of the light. Some lamp options, such as photocell activated lights, turn off automatically during the day to save battery.

    Mounting Options

Do you need a versatile lamp that can be mounted to any cone and barrier, or are you looking for a lamp designed for specific cones? Does the lamp have to be fixed permanently, or can it just be slotted on top? Consider the diversity of fixing methods and what you want to use it for, as well as where they will be used.
