  • About Barrier Lights

Lighting up barriers is critical to site safety, especially around barriers where the general public often has access. With the proper lighting system, barriers around hazards, site edges and restricted areas are visible in low-light conditions, improving safety for both pedestrians and tradespeople.

A suitable barrier light is the best solution for illuminating and highlighting barriers and associated hazards in poorly lit areas, where streetlights (if they exist) do not provide adequate illumination, such as near construction sites. This improves the visibility of these barriers, and so the safety in these environments during the night or in other low-light conditions.

Choose a type of barricade light that offers versatility to ensure optimal visibility and functionality—whether it must be attached to different types of barriers, securely locked in place and able to be stacked with the barricade, or installed on a barricade next to a road. Many models in our lineup feature sensors that automatically deactivate the light during daylight, prolonging their operational lifespan.

    Battery-Operated Barrier Lights

Our selection of battery-powered barrier lights is ideal for locations where mains power sources are impractical or inaccessible. These lights offer portability and convenience, making them perfect for temporary installations that do not require direct power connections.

What Makes A Good Road Barrier Lamp?

Before choosing the light for traffic barriers in your space, consider the following key factors:

    Battery Life

Evaluate the required battery life of the light. Our range has naturally long lifespans (in the weeks to months), but having a light run out of battery and turn off halfway through work in the dark can be extremely dangerous! If being installed for extended lengths of time, consider a solar-powered light or one with a rechargeable battery.

    Lighting Options

What kind of illumination is necessary? Consider a flashing warning light to highlight hazards, whereas a more consistent light if good visibility is important. Do you require a light that only flashes from one side? Or perhaps an LED barricade light?

    Energy Source

Depending on your environment, use case and needs, you can choose between mains-fed, solar power, rechargeable and battery power.

    Compatibility

Is the barrier light compatible with your barrier? Choose carefully, because some barrier lights are only compatible with a single type of barrier.

    Versatility

What will your barrier light be attached to? Barrier lights are sometimes compatible with other traffic management equipment, such as cones, which may provide a more versatile illumination option. If you intend to use the light on just a barrier, choose an option that can remain attached to the barrier when stacked, saving time when packing and unpacking your barriers.

    Colour & Compliance

Does your lamp's location or use case merit compliance with any standards? For example, choose a red (rail-compliant) barrier light if used near a train line.

    Features

Do you need a light that swivels? With a range of different features, choose a barrier light that best suits your environment and use case. Consider design options, colours, fixing methods and materials.
