Inspection Mirrors

Inspection Mirrors

At security checkpoints, it is impractical to climb under every vehicle to see underneath and inspect for dangerous goods or even unauthorised persons; an inspection mirror can massively improve security by allowing staff to look clearly underneath vehicles with little extra effort. These 360-degree mirrors are fitted to long handles and are easily wheeled around under the edges of a vehicle, giving a clear overview of the entire vehicles underside.

  • Inspection Mirrors

Security inspection mirrors comprise a specialised part of our range of generalised security mirrors. These mirrors are manufactured with the sole purpose of inspecting inaccessible or hazardous areas. These mirrors play an important role in making the jobs of security guards, policemen, armed services and airport security workers (amongst others) more manageable and safer.

These inspection mirrors are unique because of the additional telescopic pole used in their operation. This key feature is fundamental in allowing the mirrors easy access into hard-to-reach areas such as under seating, behind machinery and under or over vehicles.

The wide angle of these convex inspection mirrors allows a broader view of the inaccessible area than a standard flat mirror, allowing users to survey the intended area while maintaining safety and security. The telescopic pole addition allows the user to inspect said area without bending down or putting themselves at risk.

When to use an Inspection Mirror:

The inspection mirrors’ primary function is to reduce the risk of inspecting difficult to see or dangerous areas for security workers. Scenarios where security workers, policemen or similar would benefit from the use of an inspection mirror include (but are not limited to):

    • Vehicle inspection (at checkpoints, port security or similar)
    • Looking under the seats of public transport
    • When security workers need to be able to spot
    • Looking at the top of vehicles (to avoid the use of a ladder)
    • Looking under or at machinery (to avoid putting a worker in a precarious position)

Factors to Consider when Purchasing an Inspection Mirror:

    LED inspection lamp

LED Inspection Lamp - suitable for pairing with our Vision Hand Held and Vision Inspection mirrors, this clip-on lamp enables the user to work in low light conditions or for those working in hard-to-reach places.

    Castor Wheels on Inspection Mirror

Castor Wheels - castors enable the inspection mirror to be highly portable, allowing it to be wheeled under vehicles. This can be very helpful when users are repetitively looking for hidden contraband or similar at security check points.

    Variable materials

Variable Materials - our inspection mirrors are made from various materials, from polymir optics to acrylic. All provide a clear and precise image but have varying degrees of shock and scratch resistance.

Key features of our Inspection Mirrors:

    Telescopic handle

The most distinguishing characteristic of our inspection mirrors is the hand-held poles that allow the user to have a free range of motion with the reflective surface. Our telescopic poles are retractable and extend from 0.6 to 1.2 metres. The pole's extendable nature means that the mirror's optical capability can be altered from 100mm to 400mm, depending on how far the pole is lengthened. Our aluminium handles extend between 1 and 2 metres.

    Other Mirrors in our Range:

    Traffic and Road mirrors
