These classically designed heritage bollards are made from a unique polyurethane material that is harder wearing than cast steel items and most importantly maintenance free! Gone are the days of worrying about rust, paint flaking off and constant upkeep.
Even though these bollards are essentially made from plastic they are just as strong as their cast steel counterparts and almost identical to look at. This is due to their clever manufacturing process.
Where possible the moulds for these bollards are taken from “real” cast steel items. This gives the surface texture a realistic cast iron finish.
Ultrathane 6000 is incredibly hard wearing, which is why it was chosen for the heritage bollard range. These bollards can be installed in town centres, and look right at home next to their cast steel counterparts. The only difference is they will look good for longer and will not need frequent repainting.
The exceptional durability of these bollards is easier to understand if you know how the bollards are produced. A steel core is placed into a mould which UltraThane 6000 is then poured into, this creates a thick surround of polyurethane around the central core and allowed to set. Once removed from the mould the exterior is then sprayed in a highly durable high-gloss polyurethane paint, resulting in a quality finish that mirrors real cast iron.
As these Ultrathane Heritage Bollards weigh considerably less than their traditional cast steel counterparts they are suitable for a one-man install (with a few exceptions). This cuts down on the cost of installation drastically and reduces the risk of injury through improper lifting methods.

These Ultrathane 6000 bollards are available in both a fixed cast in format, and a removable design. The removable variant is ideal for use where vehicles need frequent access for events, servicing or loading.
We also have Anti-Ram options available, this uses an additional steel core placed within the bollard for added reinforcement. Perfect for asset and pedestrian protection in vulnerable areas. The Root of the bollard is also extended to 500mm long.
