15mph Speed Limit Sign, Post Mounted Diagram 670 R2/RA2

This 15mph sign is part of our range of post mounted speed limit signs. It is made from high-grade materials suitable for long term use. It is highly reflective and made from road grade materials.

The 15 mph sign is an unusual sign to see in the UK, reserved almost entirely for use on construction sites and other “off-highway” areas. You may have seen these aluminium signs enforcing a 15mph speed limit on a long private drive, shopping centre or industrial estate. More common speed limit signs include 10mph and 20mph.

Refer to Chapter 3 of the TSRGD Guidelines, page 105 and onwards for guidance on suitable locations for this sign's installation.

When installed correctly these 15mph signs provide a warning to drivers that there is a 15 mph speed limit in place. They are retro-reflective and feature a black 15 on a white background with red surround. This combination of colours ensures that there is a contrast and that the sign is easily seen.

R2 Class 2 Reflectivity

R2 (RA2) Reflectivity makes this sign suitable for use with vehicles and reflects around 32% of the light that hits the surface back to the driver. This material is also called HIP which stands for high intensity prismatic.

Post Mountable

Twin rear channels mean the sign face can be clamped in place and will not twist once secured. The clamps are available to supply separately and are not included with the sign face.

Composite Substrate

The backing of the sign is made from a rigid plastic sandwiched between two skins of aluminium making the sign strong and very durable. As there is no steel it will not rust giving a great lifespan.
