About
Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers
Wet chemical fire extinguishers are primarily used for Class F fires, which involve cooking oils and fats. They are also suitable for Class A fires, such as wood, paper, and textiles. This makes them ideal for commercial kitchens, restaurants, and canteen environments where hot oil presents a serious fire risk.
Wet chemical works by forming a layer of foam across the surface of the burning oil. This seals the fire and cuts off its oxygen supply so it cannot continue to burn. At the same time, it cools the oil, helping to prevent the fire from starting up again.
Commander Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers are PFAS-free and can be identified by the green crosshair on the cylinder. They feature a 8A - 13A 75F fire rating and include a bell-bottom hose, which allows the extinguishing agent to be applied gently and more effectively to burning oil. The unit is Kitemarked to BS EN3, UKCA and CE marked, and designed for reliable use in busy kitchen settings.
