Water Fire Extinguishers
Water fire extinguishers are the most commonly-used type, although they only work on one class of fire: Class A. This makes them ideal for storage environments like warehouses, or factories producing furniture or textiles.
Water lowers the temperature of a fire so that it can’t burn. These extinguishers spray water at high pressure, which puts the fire out quickly. Water also prevents the fire from starting up again, because the materials are too wet to ignite.
A water extinguisher will have its name marked in white text on a red-coloured label. The equipment is easy to use and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals. It goes without saying that you must avoid getting water on electrical equipment.
