The JSP PowerCap Infinity is the gold standard of powered air respirator systems, providing not only respiratory protection but head and face protection, with the ability to add hearing protection if required. This makes it as close to an all-in-one piece of above-the-neck PPE as you will find anywhere in the marketplace.
The PowerCap Infinity is built around the solid foundation of JSP’s EVO5 safety helmet. It is highly adjustable and offers excellent impact protection from falling objects and everyday hazards encountered on construction sites. A ‘twin turbo’ blower unit has been mounted to this outstanding helmet, drawing up to 160 litres of air per minute through two easily changed filter cartridges and delivering it to the wearer as required with an automatically adjusted flow rate.
The face visor on the JSP Power Cap Infinity features class 1 optics and conforms to EN166.B, making it suitable for use with power tools such as grinders and wall chasers. Those with beards will find this respirator ideal due to its "loose" fit, which eliminates the need for face-fit testing.
Although the PowerCap Infinity is an excellent unit, it does, like all Respiratory protection, have restrictions on where and how it should be used. For example, the mask should not be used with asbestos or with gasses, Which the alternative Force 10 Full-Face Mask is an ideal candidate for (so long as you do not have a beard).
With this in mind, you should ALWAYS conduct a proper risk assessment before commencing work to identify the required protection factor and any other potential issues that may be faced to ensure you are wearing the correct RPE for your job.
