Our 30 mph speed limit roundels are part of our range of road markings. You will find 30 mph roundels in villages and town centres all over the country. Used when entering the 30 mph zone and then often repeated every few hundred metres these roundels ensure that the speed limit is clear.
These pre-cut 30 mph speed limit roundels are a great alternative to hand-painted roundels. This is because they are always the correct size and shape. There are several other benefits to thermoplastic markings when compared to traditional markings. These benefits include;
Tri-Colour Markings are those supplied in “full colour” in this case Red, White and Black. They have their own contrast but cost a little bit more.
These roundels only use white colour and have no background to them. They are more commonly seen on public highways.
When travelling towards a speed roundel at speed it needs to be intentionally distorted. This ensures that it can still be interpreted correctly by approaching motorists.
Our range of roundel sizes includes;
Other sizes are available upon request but may carry a longer delivery time.
Applying our speed roundels is very easy. Firstly the area must be cleaned of all loose debris, oil, grease and salts. Once this is done you are ready to get going. If your road surface is old tarmac, concrete or block paving then you will need to use our fast-drying primer.
Once you have fully prepped the surface the roundel can be set out. Once you are happy with the marking positioning a heat gun can be used to melt the marking to the road surface. For additional traction glass bead can be sprinkled over the surface, this is fused into the marking with the further application of heat.
Thermoplastic on block paving is known to be more difficult to apply and has a substantially shorter lifetime than on bituminous surfaces, such as tarmac.
Block paving is not a solid structure. Most of the time, they are put down and sand is added into the grooves, so over time when moisture creeps in as well as moss, movement can be made within 2 blocks, making the material crack and fail.
