Fire Blankets
A fire blanket is a sheet of fire-retardant material designed to smother a small fire and cut off its supply of oxygen. This allows the fire to burn itself out, and stops it from spreading further.
Often used for kitchen fires involving cooking fats and oils, you can also use fire blankets on some other flammable liquids. They’re ideal for clothing fires, waste bin fires, and small electrical fires - or as a shield when escaping from a fire.
Specialist fire blankets are available for lithium-ion battery fires, allowing you to contain the blaze until help arrives. In all cases, fire blankets come in easy-access pouches so you can keep them at hand in danger areas.
