    Flexibility vs toughness

    Work trousers traditionally focused on durability with little regard for movement and flexibility. Made from heavy materials that could withstand a tough day's work, they often compromised comfort, making movement laborious and bending and flexing impossible. This also often resulted in the seams splitting.

    Our modern work trousers offer a blend of both durability and comfort, with some workwear trousers made from heavy denim with stretch panels that still allow freedom of movement and flexibility. For workers who don't require maximum toughness - and those for whom flexibility is key - our full-stretch trousers enable complete freedom of movement.

    If you're looking for serious toughness, look for features such as Cordura panels at strategic wear points and heavy denim that can take abrasion all day long. Triple-stitched seams also offer extra strength when coupled with adequate stretch panels.

    Key considerations to get the best work trousers

    When shopping for your next pair of trousers for work, consider the following points to ensure you get the features that matter - keeping you comfortable and safe whilst you put in a hard day's work.

    Holster pockets

    For some applications, it's essential to be able to carry nails, screws, or even tools in holster pockets on your trousers. This prevents you from needing to take a box or pack around. When using holsters to carry tools such as pliers and screwdrivers, they splay out, preventing tools from digging in as you move and flex.

    Slim fit

    If you don't like loose-fitting trousers or you need slim-fitting trousers to prevent snags and hang-ups on site, then our range of slim-fit trousers is a must-have.

    Feature pockets

    If you have a specific tool you carry constantly, make sure your chosen trousers feature a pocket to carry that tool safely and securely. This can make you work more efficiently as it removes the temptation to put tools down, which leads to them getting lost on site.

    Work environment

    Carefully consider the work environment you wear your trousers in. In a very dirty environment, a darker colour will look cleaner for far longer. Other critical considerations include flame resistance and resistance against arc flash hazards.

    Visibility
