About Sign Fixings

We offer many different sign clamps and sign fixings as part of our extensive range of permanent road signage. We have sign fixing brackets for all types of scenarios on the shelf ready to go.

There are several types of clips and they're all used in different scenarios, which can cause confusion if you're unfamiliar with road signage. To ease the buying process, we have experienced staff on hand who can assist you in finding the perfect sign post clip for almost any mounting point.

Lamp post sign fixings: which fixing Is best suited?

Lamp posts can come in a variety of sizes - so we recommend using the universal stainless steel banding system to attach signs to them. This way, you will never get to the site and discover your clamps are the wrong size.

How many clips per sign?

For every sign face, you'll need to purchase 2 sign clips. All our permanent signs come with at least 2 channels on the rear. For signs over 900mm tall, you may need more than 2 clips per sign face.

Main types of sign fixing brackets

Back To Back Clips: These can be used to secure two signs “back to back” onto a single post. These are usually used in conjunction with anti-rotational sign clamps. They need to be sized to clear the post you're attaching them to.

Universal Sign Clips: Working with a slightly oddly-sized post, simple clips are tensioned using a screw at the back. Once the band has been fed around the post, the band is tightened, which in turn clamps the sign channel too.

Anti Rotational Clips: These come in many sizes with the most popular being 76mm for 76mm posts. One end hooks into the sign channel, and the other side can then be tightened to secure the sign fully. These are by far the most popular sign fixing method.

Square Clips: These clips are for use on square-shaped posts which are fairly common. If your sign post is round, you do not need these square profile clips

Stainless Steel Banding: If you're working with a range of sign post sizes or excessively large posts, this banding can be attached to almost anything. It uses stainless steel banding along with buckles and universal channel clamps to anchor the sign. This system offers great flexibility, but also requires additional tools to secure the sign.
