Animal Safety Road Signs
Animal safety road signs are designed to protect both animals and human road users. They usually take the form of triangular warning signs, alerting drivers and pedestrians to the fact that a certain type of animal may be in the road so that they can adjust their speed.
There are signs for cattle, sheep, wild fowl (with an image of a duck), wild horses, and wild animals in general (depicted by a deer). A lesser-spotted sign animal safety road sign is "Migratory Toads Crossing", which may only be deployed at certain times of year.
Besides farm animals and wildlife, other signs in this category refer to horses being used as transport. Triangular signs can warn drivers about ridden horses and horse-drawn vehicles, and there are also circular regulatory signs that prohibit both of these.
You may see a blue circular sign that allows only cycles, ridden horses, and pedestrians into an area - or the more unusual version permitting only cycles, horse-drawn vehicles, and pedestrians.
