This Quick Fit WORKS TRAFFIC ONLY sign (diagram number 7301) is used to inform passing traffic that a gap in the working barrier is intended for the access of works vehicles only. The entrance to the works should ideally be positioned so that it can be safely accessed without causing vehicles to slow or stop in the main carriageway.

By placing this sign at the entrance to a work site you reduce the likelihood of having general traffic accidentally turn into the site. For motorway use, there is a variant of this sign that includes a lane diagram this falls under diagram number 7306.
