Anti-skid thermoplastic panels can be used to create a hard wearing high friction surface which improve safety in areas such as footbridges, landing areas, traffic calming areas and hazardous areas. They can also be used following utility works or resurfacing. These panels are a cost effective, and easy to install.
They are made from a compound of metal free pigments, aggregates, fillers, high quality synthetic resins and performance polymers topped with anti skid glass beading. All of this creates a cost effective, anti-slip floor sheet with a skid resistance value of 65+ (subject to not overheating the material during installation).
These thermoplastic sheets are 1000mm x 600mm and 3mm thick. Provided in single coloured packs of 5, one pack of thermoplastic sheeting will provide 3 square meters of coverage. These sheets can be cut to size allowing for maximum flexibility when applying in unusually shaped areas. Applied like any other thermoplastic material these sheets require no specialist equipment to be applied to the surface and can be trafficked after approximately 5-10 minutes after initially applied.
These sheet flooring panels offer great flexibility for application, common uses include;
Installing these sheets is very straightforward. Following the steps in the video to the right, the thermoplastic panels can be installed with ease. To install these sheets you will require only a few tools such as a firm brush and a propane gas torch and a small amount of preparation.
Please Note: Thermoplastic primer may be required to aid adhesion of the sheets to concrete. Please refer to the data sheet and make your own decision using the information provided.
Thermoplastic on block paving is known to be more difficult to apply and has a substantially shorter lifetime than on bituminous surfaces, such as tarmac.
Block paving is not a solid structure. Most of the time, they are put down and sand is added into the grooves, so over time when moisture creeps in as well as moss, movement can be made within 2 blocks, making the material crack and fail.
