About Security Bollards

Many businesses and homeowners rely on security bollards to protect their assets. These robust posts are designed to prevent ram-raiding and vehicle theft by creating a physical barrier to entry (or exit).

If you are unable to gate off your property, a security bollard is the next best thing for keeping your vehicle safe on your driveway. Retractable or telescopic bollards are ideal for those with limited space, whilst fold-down bollards are some of the easiest to install, requiring no excavation. Fixed and anti-ram security posts are often used by car dealership forecourts, shopping centres, and factories to create a secure perimeter and protect buildings from reversing heavy goods vehicles. Almost all our security bollards are made from steel, which is unyielding, highly durable, and requires little maintenance. We also stock some plastic posts with a steel core inside, making them anti-ram and great for preventing unauthorised vehicle access.

What finishes are available?

Many of our security posts are available in several finishes:

Galvanised - A galvanised finish coats the metal with a sacrificial coating of zinc, which prevents the metal from rusting for many many years.
Painted - This coating protects the steel from the elements. Many of our painted items are also galvanised to further enhance corrosion protection.
Plastic - These posts have a plastic case either placed over them or bonded to them, for a more ergonomic external finish while protecting the steel from the elements.

How are security posts installed?

As security posts need to be able to stop a vehicle, they require secure fixings. Almost all our "anti-ram" security bollards are cast into the ground using concrete for a firm foundation. If it's not possible to dig a hole, we offer a range of surface-mounted posts. Although not as strong as cast-in posts, they still serve the purpose of deterring car thieves.
