About
110V Site Lighting
110V lighting is used on UK construction sites because the low-voltage carries less risk of a fatal electric shock, which is a particular hazard when working in outdoor environments with rain, mud, and metal structures and equipment. These lights are also ideal for temporary roadworks sites.
110V site lights operate through a centre-tapped-to-earth (CTE) transformer, which converts the standard UK mains supply (230–240V) into a lower voltage. You’ll need to choose the right transformer by calculating the wattage of tools likely to run at the same time and taking site conditions into account.
Our 110v LED lights comply with safety standards such as BS 7375 as well as HSE guidance for using electricity on construction sites. If you need to illuminate a wide area, our festoon lighting allows you to link multiple sets of 110V work lights together in a longer chain, all from the same single 110v power supply.
