LifeVac Home Kit - Anti-Choking
In time-critical situations, having the correct equipment on hand to dislodge a blockage in the airway is essential. The LifeVac Home Kit is designed for use when traditional methods such as back blows and abdominal thrusts are not effective, providing an additional layer of protection in domestic environments, including kitchens, dining areas, and households with children, elderly individuals, or those at risk of choking.
With choking capable of causing brain damage in under six minutes and proving fatal in under ten, having immediate access to a reliable solution is crucial. The LifeVac uses a patented one-way valve and suction mechanism to safely remove obstructions without forcing them deeper into the airway, while interchangeable mask sizes ensure an effective seal for both paediatric and adult users. Its non-invasive design reduces risk during high-pressure situations, making it suitable for carers, families, and individuals supporting those with conditions that affect swallowing such as Parkinson’s or multiple sclerosis.
Supplied in a durable and portable case, the LifeVac Home Kit is easy to store and quick to deploy in an emergency, offering reassurance in both everyday living spaces and when caring for vulnerable individuals. The inclusion of a practice mask allows users to familiarise themselves with the device in advance, helping to ensure a fast and confident response when it matters most, whether at home or when supporting at-risk individuals in a care setting. LifeVac features two patented discs for interchangeable mask sizes and a one-way valve that prevents air from being forced through the mask. Its non-invasive design avoids pushing the tongue back or driving obstructions deeper, while also preventing tube blockages that could reduce effectiveness.
To use the LifeVac, push and twist the mask onto the base, then hold it firmly over the person’s mouth and nose with their head tilted back. Using your dominant hand, depress the handle and pull upward with a short, swift tug. If the obstruction isn’t cleared, roll the person onto their side, clear any debris from their mouth, and repeat up to five times.
