Description

JSP AFP-25 Helmet Mounted Electrical Arc Faceshield

The AFP-25 helmet-mounted face shield from JSP offers protection for the eyes and face in the event of an arc flash. Critically, this face shield has been tested in accordance with ASTM F2178 and offers an ATPV of 25cal/cm2. In addition to the arc flash protection, this face shield has been tested for impact resistance under EN166 and is rated B for medium impact energy, meaning it is suitable for use with powered hand tools.

The AFF132-440-408 version specifically features a weight-balancing system that makes the visor easier to stow single-handedly. This requires the visor to be worn with an EVO5 helmet (not vented). The non-balanced version, AFF122-440-408, can be worn with any non-vented EVO helmet (excluding the EVO 6100 full brim).

The optics of this visor are Class 1, meaning it gives clear, undistorted views of what you are working on, which is critical when working with high-voltage electrical equipment. The full height and extra width of the visor work to deflect the energy of a blast around the face for maximum protection. UV filtering is also one of the many features of this visor, helping to prevent blindness from extreme UV light exposure during an accident.

For proper protection, this visor should ALWAYS be worn with a non-vented helmet and with associated and compatible Arc Flash-rated clothing.

Rated 8 for arc flash protection according to EN 140. Testing in accordance with ASTM F2178, the AFP-25 faceshield achieved an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of 25cal/cm2.

No Distortion Optics

Optical class 1 high-grade integral glasses will not distort vision, ensuring that lights in dark environments do not cause streaking or staring, causing significant safety issues.
