Alusthetic's Stainless Steel threshold drain is a slim drainage channel designed for residential projects in non-trafficked areas like patios, pathways, and walkways. Specifically designed for domestic applications, this drainage solution efficiently gathers and redirects water, preventing the formation of stagnant pools around entrances, patios, and pedestrian spaces near homes or businesses.
The linear drainage channel (trench drainage channel), efficiently controls water runoff at doorways or entrances, presenting an optimal solution for both commercial and residential structures susceptible to water ingress, protecting walls and foundations from potential damage. This effective drainage system not only prevents water damage but also contributes to the maintenance of a secure living or working environment. Additionally, threshold drains decrease surface runoff in urban settings, lowering the likelihood of local flooding.
Fully compliant to load class standard A 15 BS EN 1433:2002 and meeting the requirements of Part M of the Building Regulations, this certified threshold drainage strip can withstand forces of up to 15kN (approximately 1.5 tonnes) in soft ground, and approximately 25kN in concrete. This robust construction makes it well-suited for light-duty applications both indoors and outdoors, such as skirting the base of indoor pools, patio and garage thresholds, as well as along pedestrian footpaths and bridleways.
The Alusthetic PVC Threshold Drain Collection in Stainless Steel
With its channel bed manufactured from one-metre length of extruded PVC and heel guard gratings (to protect high-heeled shoes) available in anodised silver aluminium, anodised black aluminium, stainless steel or corten steel, Alusthetic’s threshold drain system is available in different styles and colours to compliment any area.
Large volumes of drain water can be carried thanks to a discreet 65mm width and depth of 103mm. Each piece is available in one-metre lengths, with a full range of accessories, which include the bottom connector, 50mm outlet end cap and corner unit - allowing the installation of the whole system. Other accessories include solvent weld, end caps, and 80mm bottom outlets.
In stainless steel grade 316, the Alusthetic drainage channel is even more durable and is specifically designed to withstand flush swimming pool and sanitary environments, capable of withstanding up to approximately 4ppm of chlorine (when British pools see a maximum of 3ppm). This ensures very minimal grating maintenance and a long-lasting, yet comfortable and safe, poolside surface to walk on, making the grating a reliable and enduring drainage solution for your space.
Please note: Each section of Alusthetic Threshold Drainage Channel should be connected using a channel connector which will also help to stabilise the channel during installation. Ends should be capped off using an end cap or outlet. We recommend using a PVC solvent weld to fuse your channels and connectors together. Although not essential (as your system will be slotted together using channel connectors), it can be useful to plug any gaps and ensure your channels are one seamless length of leak proof, water tight PVC.
