Alusthetic PVC & Corten Steel Channel Drain With Grating 1m
Alusthetic's corten steel threshold drain is a slim drainage channel designed for residential projects in areas with minimal vehicular traffic, such as patios, pathways, and walkways. Tailored for domestic use, this drainage solution efficiently collects and redirects water, reducing the accumulation of pools of water around entry points, patios, and pedestrian zones close to residences or businesses.
The linear drainage channel (trench drainage channel), effectively controls water runoff at doorways or entrances, presenting an optimal solution for both commercial and residential structures susceptible to water ingress, protecting walls and foundations from potential damage. This effective drainage system not only prevents water damage but also contributes to maintaining a secure living or working environment. Additionally, threshold drains decrease surface runoff in urban settings, lowering the likelihood of local flooding.
Fully compliant to load class standard A 15 BS EN 1433:2002 and meeting the requirements of Part M of the Building Regulations, this certified threshold drainage strip can withstand forces of up to 15kN (approximately 1.5 tonnes) in soft ground and around 25kN in concrete. This robust construction makes it well-suited for light-duty indoor and outdoor applications, such as skirting the base of indoor pools, patio and garage thresholds, and along pedestrian footpaths and bridleways.
Please note: Each section of Alusthetic Threshold Drainage Channel should be connected using a channel connector which will also help to stabilise the channel during installation. Ends should be capped off using an end cap or outlet. We recommend using a PVC solvent weld to fuse your channels and connectors together. Although not essential (as your system will be slotted together using channel connectors), it can be useful to plug any gaps and ensure your channels are one seamless length of leak proof, water tight PVC.
The Alusthetic PVC Threshold Drain Collection In Corten Steel
With its channel bed manufactured from one-metre length of extruded PVC and heel guard gratings (to protect high-heeled shoes) available in anodised silver aluminium, anodised black aluminium, stainless steel or corten steel, Alusthetic’s threshold drain system is available in different styles and colours to compliment any area.
Large volumes of drain water can be carried thanks to a discreet 65mm width and depth of 103mm. Each piece is available in one-metre lengths, with a full range of accessories, which include the bottom connector, outlet end cap and corner unit - allowing the installation of the whole system. Other accessories include PVC Solvent Weld, end caps, and bottom outlets.
In corten steel, the Alusthetic drainage channel boasts an eye-catching, vibrant orange finish with strong corrosion resistance. Corten Steel may arrive looking black as it hasn't had time to age in its environment. Please bear in mind that during this initial ageing process (which can take up to approximately 2 weeks), the natural corten effect may bleed into surrounding materials, especially porous ones, staining them a brown or orange colour.
