Carters Shocksafe Insulated No.2 Taper Mouth Treaded Shovel BS8020
This insulated taper mouth shovel from Carters Shocksafe range is a great alternative to the Square Mouth Shocksafe shovel. It features a narrower leading edge, which some prefer as it can easily cut through material without sacrificing load capacity. This makes this shovel ideal for working cement, tarmac, and concrete and shovelling heavy soils whilst digging trenches.
As with the rest of the ShockSafe range, it is BS2080 20011 tools for live working compliant, meaning it is designed for use in areas where live cables are present. The handle and shaft are insulated from the blade, offering protection for the user against live cables carrying up to 10,000 volts. This makes the shovel perfect for those working on rail infrastructure or utilities where a common hazard is buried live cables with inadequate warning.
This Shocksafe No.2 Taper mouth shovel is a fantastic workhorse that is not only lightweight but exceptionally strong. It features a forward tread at the top of the forged steel blade that reinforces the blade, allowing the blade to be lighter without decreasing its strength.
