Carters Shocksafe Long Handle Clay Grafter Spade BS8020
This long-handled Shocksafe clay grafter spade has a slightly dished blade with a curved leading edge, making cutting into heavy, hard soils easier. Its 54” handle offers exceptional reach, reducing the need for bending while digging deeper excavations. This, in turn, reduces the potential for user strain and injury from working in awkward positions.
The insulated handle on this spade is what makes it a Shocksafe product. Its fibreglass construction makes it suitable for working around live wires and conductors carrying up to 10,000V. This feature makes the Long Handle Shocksafe Clay Grafter perfect for use when installing utilities or working trackside where there are often existing buried cables that may or may not be well signposted.
The blade on this clay grafter, like many Carters tools, is made from a single piece of forged steel. This makes it perfect for heavy-duty work as it does not have the weak points often associated with welded blades and heads. The blade on this spade is 155mm wide, making it one of the narrower spades we offer.
