There are both flashing and constant illumination modes, which can be easily toggled with a switch on the lamp. A light sensor means that the lamp turns off automatically during daylight hours, preserving battery life. Hoarding lights can last for six months in flashing mode, while tamper resistant security bolts ensure they are locked in place for as long as required.

Hoarding lights are designed to be mounted on or around construction site hoardings, temporary fencing, and walkways to highlight hazards and/or illuminate the surrounding area, sometimes deterring unauthorised access.
