Traffic Queues Likely Ahead Post Mounted Sign - Dia 584 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
The queues likely road sign to diagram 584 is designed to be used only on high-speed roads where you may suddenly come across unexpected queueing traffic. For example where traffic builds to a junction over the brow of a hill, round bends or on a busy motorway junction. The sign should be placed far enough ahead of where the danger may be to give the driver enough warning that stationary traffic could be just around the corner.
Queues are to be expected when approaching traffic signals or a roundabout so where these are the obstacles causing queues, the use of 510, "Roundabout Ahead" or 543, "Traffic Signals Ahead" are to be used.
You should expect this sign where queues regularly form on the road where you wouldn't expect them such as a turning or where queues on a slip road continue onto the main carriageway.
The sign may only be plated with ‘Queues Likely’ and its variants. The plate may use a left/right arrow if the queue is expected to be on a road that leads from the current junction. ‘Queues likely on slip road’ should be used if the queue on the slip road shortens the normal deceleration distance of the upcoming slip road.
The sign is available from 450mm to 1500mm, refer to Appendix A of Chapter 4 of the TSRGD Guidelines found on our regulations page to find out what size you should use for the speed on the road. Please contact us through our sales team if you can’t find the size you require.
