Junction Outside A Bend Post Mounted Sign - 512.1 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
This warning sign is used to warn drivers of an incoming severe turning with a junction joining from the outside of the bend. The turning should be harsh enough that drivers may find it difficult to make without slowing down and visibility of the turn is limited in all conditions. 'Left' indicates a left turning with the joining road from the right, 'Right’ shows the reverse.
This sign should be used sparingly to only indicate a bend hazard as the over using this sign on the road may reduce its effectiveness. There is no universal test to say whether this diagram is appropriate for a road so a subjective assessment should be used to decide. For further information on the conditions of usage, refer to TSRGD Guidelines Chapter 4, Page 14
This sign may be used with a supplementary plate to indicate one of four messages:
- Diagram 511- “Reduce Speed Now”
- Diagram 513.1- “Adverse Camber”
- Diagram 513.2- “Maximum Speed Advised”
- Diagram 526- “Keep In Low Gear”
- Diagram 575- “Oncoming Vehicles In Middle Of The Road”
This warning sign comes in the standard sizing of 600mm. Other sizes are available to order. This may be necessary where there is limited space or there have been accidents due to the low visibility of the sign meaning a larger size is needed.
