  • About Water Resistant Safety Shoes

Our range of water-resistant safety footwear consists of safety boots and shoes. These differ from our selection of waterproof safety footwear in that they have a water-repellent upper only instead of being entirely waterproof. This lowers the price point of the footwear, making it more affordable while still delivering the water resistance required for 90% of roles.

These quality pieces of water-resistant protective footwear are all EN 20345 compliant, meaning they either have a WRU rating or a rating such as S3 that incorporates WRU by default. In addition to water resistance, these footwear pieces are designed and tested to protect you against hazards frequently seen at work and on-site.

Ensuring there is something for every role, these water-repellent shoes come in styles that resemble trainers, boots, managerial shoes, and much more. Making sure you can work in comfort and style in almost any workplace setting.

Finding The Best Water Resistant Safety Shoe For Your Needs

With a huge range of shoes to choose from and it being so important that you get the right one, we have put together a list of key considerations to take into account when making your purchase.

    WR or WRU?

WR-rated footwear means the whole shoe is waterproof. This means that the shoe will hold off water for longer than WRU shoes, where only the upper is water-repellent. This makes WR boots and shoes more suited to long exposure to heavy rain and extreme conditions.

    Cold Insulation

If you work in cold environments, such as those seen in a winter dockyard, a CI-rated boot will ensure your feet are insulated from the cold surface you are standing on.

    Tread Pattern

Ensure you choose a shoe with the appropriate tread pattern for you to cross the terrain you are working on. Coarse deep treads will help displace mud and debris, allowing you to make quick progress, whereas finer, flatter treads are great for smooth indoor surfaces.

    Breathability

Upgrades like GORE-Tex and other breathable liners allow moisture, such as perspiration generated by your feet, to quickly escape and dry your feet.

    Hazards

Do you need to be protected from any specific hazards related to your working role, such as extreme heat from hot metal surfaces or magnetic fields that may require a metal-free boot?

    Maintenance

Some boots require routine maintenance, such as the application of sealants and waxes, to keep your safety shoes waterproof. This should be considered at the time of purchase.
