Shield Anchors
When fixing heavy loads to walls, ceilings and floors, a heavy-duty fixing is essential. Shield anchors are a type of expansion bolt designed to provide a strong and reliable hold in loose or crumbly materials like concrete, brick, and stone, especially for products that might see some vibration or movement. When installed, shield anchors expand against the edges of the hole, spreading the expansion force across the whole length of the shield and gripping the surrounding material tightly to provide incredible stability and load-bearing capacity - even in surfaces like brick that don't naturally provide much support.
Shield anchors are internally threaded, so once hammered into your pre-drilled hole, simply insert the bolt with the washer through the fixture and tighten it to the recommended torque to make the anchor expand and secure the fixture.
Many tradespeople prefer shield anchors over other fixings for many use cases because they are strong, heavier duty and durable. They are commonly used in structural applications, including securing heavy machinery, steel frameworks, shelving, and safety barriers.
