Traffic Joins Main Carriageway Post Mounted Sign - Diagram 509.1 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
This diagram is used to warn drivers that they are about to join the main carriageway and may have to give way to oncoming traffic.
The sign is needed where it is not obvious to drivers that they are on a slip road- such as a former main road through a village joining a bypass, or the main carriageway of a motorway joining another motorway. For more details on where this sign can be used, refer to page 12 of the TSRGD Guidelines, Chapter 4.
If it is difficult to see where the traffic will merge from the position of the sign, it can be plated with the distance ahead in yards or miles. The same diagram, but rotated, is used for the carriageway it is joining. 508.1 should be used to warn of traffic joining from the left hand side.
This sign comes standard at the size of 600mm, but other sizes are available from the options box. Please contact our sales team to arrange alternative sizing where space is limited or collisions are recurrent.
