The all-new Q-Frame road sign frame from Melba Swintex is a long-awaited innovation that has pulled the quick fit system into the modern age. An ultra-strong blow moulded plastic construction makes this sign frame highly durable, non-conductive and most importantly lightweight.
Unlike traditional steel frames this plastic quick fit mini sign frame has no sharp edges, and also no scrap value so is not desirable to scrap metal thieves that often target metal sign frames. Transportation and storage costs are also massively reduced with 80 units easily being transported on a single pallet. This density of storage along with the lightweight nature of the product means there is more weight capacity relieved on vans and transport vehicles.
Compatible with all quick fit faces, including supplementary faces that have 300mm hole centres. The frame also comes with mounting points for 450mm centres, if this is something you require please do not hesitate to contact us.
Out the box, this sign frame has 300mm toggle centres that work with all of our quick fit sign faces. If you currently use 450mm faces then the toggles can be moved or supplied with 450mm centres as a special order.

The plastic mini quick fit frame from Melba Swintex is the most densely stacking sign frames on the market. With 80 units on a pallet and a much lighter weight loading, this all makes for fewer trips and improved fuel economy.
The Q-frame is the very first quick fit sign frame to be tested at the Mira full-scale wind testing facility. To be suitable for use on UK roads temporary road signs must be able to withstand three classes of wind speed with the use of ballast as per BS 8442:2015;
Class A: 26.3 m/s (58mph)
Class B: 17.6 m/s (39mph)
Class C: 8.7m/s (19mph)
The Q-frame after testing has been shown to be suitable for use in all of the above wind speed classes with added ballast in the form of sandbags. The following table indicates how much ballast is required at each common sign face size, and wind loading.
