Low-Flying Helicopters Road Post Mounted Sign - Dia 558.1 R2/RA2 (Face Only)

Where the helicopters road sign diagram 558.1 is used, helicopters should be expected to be landing or taking off in the near vicinity. The use of this warning sign should prepare the road user for the sudden noise or appearance of a helicopter.

The use of ‘For’ and a distance is recommended as the positioning of the sign should be sited further back than the standard distance, otherwise, a helicopter could be virtually overhead before the driver sees a sign which defeats its purpose.

R2 Class 2 Reflectivity

R2 (RA2) Reflectivity makes this sign suitable for use with vehicles and reflects around 32% of the light that hits the surface back to the driver. This material is also called HIP which stands for high intensity prismatic.

Post Mountable

Twin rear channels mean the sign face can be clamped in place and will not twist once secured. The clamps are available to supply separately and are not included with the sign face.

Composite Substrate

The backing of the sign is made from a rigid plastic sandwiched between two skins of aluminium making the sign strong and very durable. As there is no steel it will not rust giving a great lifespan.
