Give Way To Oncoming Vehicles Post Mounted Sign- Dia 615 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
This give way sign is used on narrow roads and means that cars from the other direction have priority and the driver must stop to let them pass. Under no circumstances should this be flipped upside down to mean the current side has right of way, this is done with diagram 811- "Priority Over Oncoming Traffic".
Where a priority system is in place with a gradient above 2.5%, the give way sign should face the direction coming uphill. When the gradient is not as severe and the road narrows on one side only, the sign should be mounted on that side. Otherwise, the sign should be on the side that should be able to give way more readily.
This sign may only be used where vehicles at both sides can see each other and speeds are low enough for drivers to safely stop in time. The plate 'Give way to oncoming vehicles' with or without a distance should be used at the start of the section. Another diagram plated ‘End’ should then be used to mark where this no longer applies.
The standard alternate sizes for this diagram are, 600mm, 750mm, 900mm and 1200m. If you require alternative sizing then this can be arranged through contacting our sales team.
