This Taper mouth shovel from the Manmade range of tools is the ideal choice for mixing concrete, shoveling tarmac and cement, backfilling trenches with soil or maneuvering ballast. This is because it has a narrower leading edge, allowing it to cut through these stickier and coarse materials with ease and with minimal resistance.

The No 2 Taper mouth shovel features a wide blade with raised edges, unlike the Manmade Square mouth shovel, though it features a narrowed leading edge. This does reduce the blade capacity but significantly reduces the resistance when shoveling stiffer materials. The blade is made from a single piece of forged steel with a solid socket, making it exceptionally strong when compared to open socket alternatives.
