Compulsory Turn Left Ahead Diagram 609
This 609 post mounted sign indicates that all vehicular traffic must turn ahead in the direction that the arrow is pointing. These are commonly used where a single carriageway meets a dual carriageway at T-junction.
This sign is made from high-quality Class 2 R2 reflective material placed onto a composite backing. The backing is made from plastic clad in thin aluminium sheets making it highly durable yet cost-effective.
This sign is defined in the TSRGD guidelines as diagram 609, more information on the use of this road sign can be seen in chapter 3 and chapter 4 guidelines.
This sign is often used in conjunction with the following signs, 652 straight ahead, 608 and 607 supplementary plates and 606 one way signs.
