No U-Turns Ahead Post Mount Sign - Dia. 614 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
The no u-turn sign is designed to stop vehicles from turning onto the other side where it may be dangerous to other vehicles.
At junctions not controlled by traffic signals, the sign should be installed on the central refuge area facing the side which the restriction applies to. Without the central island, the sign should usually be on the left-hand side of the road. This applies unless visibility would be poor, then it can be replicated or put on the right. For signalled junctions, see chapter 6 of the TSM.
If there is a gap in the central reservation then the sign should be placed before and after the gap to give the best possible visibility to the driver.
Where the restriction applies to a length of road rather than one area, the no U-turn sign should be supplemented with distance for signs where the prohibition applies. Repeaters may be used but at the appropriate sizing for the road speed every 100m along this length.
Start Traffic can provide this sign in a variety of sizes from 450mm to 1200mm.
