Articulated Vehicles Prohibited Post Mount Sign - 622.4 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
Where a length of road isn’t suitable for a long vehicle with a hinged trailer, a "No articulated vehicles" sign (diagram 622.4) should be used to prevent their access. An articulated vehicle is usually a long bus or lorry with a pivot joint to allow for sharper turning. Some areas may be too busy, tight or have adverse camber making it difficult to drive on for one of these vehicles which would lead to the use of this regulatory sign. The sign can be varied to show “No articulated vehicles" or "No track laying vehicles" as appropriate.
The signs should be used where the physical shape or build of the road poses too much of a hazard for these vehicles. This means the restriction is because of how the road is, rather than the environment. Therefore, there are no supplementary ‘exception’ plates suitable for use with this diagram. It may be appropriate to supplement the sign with an ‘Ice’ or ‘Snowdrifts’ sign when these are a potential threat.
We can provide the sign at 600mm, 750mm and 900mm, but can get alternative sizing arranged in cases where it is needed. If this is the case, please contact our sales team and we will quote for a custom print.
