Frail or Disabled Pedestrians Post Mounted Sign - 544.2 R2/RA2 (Face Only)
The elderly people road sign diagram 544.2 is used to warn drivers that there are likely to be frail or disabled pedestrians in the road. This tells drivers that pedestrians may be slow, frail or poor sighted and may need more time to cross the road.
This post-mounted sign is restricted to sites where a large number of pedestrians are likely to cross and is not at a pedestrian or zebra crossing. This may be near assisted living housing, nursing homes or residential areas. The diagram can be paired with diagram 547.4- "Disabled People", 572- "Distance Ahead" or 573- Directional Arrow.
This warning sign comes in 600mm, 750mm, 900mm or 1200mm. The size of the sign should be decided on the speed and condition of the road, or where accidents are frequent.
